Last year I set my mind on walking the Camino De Santiago; step one in the approximately 4 week journey of about 780km has been taken: On Wednesday I bought a guidebook: Pilgrim's Guide to the Camino De Santiago http://t.co/eSH4R0O
"The Camino de Santiago de Compostela, also known in English as The Way of St James, is a collection of old pilgrimage routes which cover all Europe. They all have Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain as their final destination. For more than 1000 years pilgrims have been walking along the Camino de Santiago.
The main Camino route is the Camino Frances. This part of the Camino de Santiago traditionally starts in St Jean Pied de Port and finishes in Santiago de Compostela about 780km later, after travelling the breadth of Northern Spain, (In Santiago you can collect your Compostela). However you can start anywhere and even continue past Santiago to the sea at Finisterre. Finisterre was thought to be the end of the world in medieval times."

When will you go? Take me in your carry-on?
You're most welcome! :-) I was aiming for September, but I think I'm being too ambitious...to take a month out of my life is complicated & challenging; except for a miracle (& I do believe in those), it will probably only be next (European) summer... :-)
I suppose, in the spirit of the Road, I should write that I will walk the Road when both me and the road are ready... haha!
Have a wonderful day... are you on holiday? How is the summer in Canada? Wish I was there... :-)
That's amazing! It is also on my list of things to do. Did you know that Shirley Maclaine did the Camino in her late 60's? Brilliant. Hope you are shining brightly mister. :-)
Jeff it's TOP of my to do list right now, my only challenge is setting aside 5 entire weeks (i want to do it in one graceful, slow go), and having the money to support myself through those 5 weeks, and the money for the trip. Tall order? Perhaps. But I believe it will come together... :)
But how are you??
