The third Gender and Media (GEM) Summit, of which the theme is "Whose news, whose views? Critical citizens, responsive media", is taking place 10 - 12 August 2008 in Johannesburg, South Africa and over 200 media practitioners from around SADC, Africa, and as far away as Palestine and India, are expected to share best practices in creating a more responsive media.
